News in today's United Daily said that TH--with Cai Yue Xun as director and Jerry Yan, Leon Dai as lead actors--became the first Taiwanese TV drama series to be nominated by an award-giving body from Mainland China. However, it was Leon Dai and not Jerry Yan that was nominated to the best leading actor category. When asked about this, Jerry's manager Mao Liang said: "Congratulations to Da Bao Ge (Dai), wish he wins the award."

When asked if Jerry had a feeling of loss, Mao Liang said: "Of course not. During the time when he filmed this drama, he learned a lot from Dai and also became friends with him. He is still young, there are still
many chances to win an award in the future."

Let's wait for further announcement. I am so curious what's the reason behind why GMA 7 bought the rights to think that ABS-CBN had broadcasted it years ago. Ratings?Earnings?Recognition? whatever still ... i am much more excited on "The Hospital" hope it will an award...

For Me, Meteor Garden is still THE BEST ASIAN SERIES I'VE EVER SEEN!

Group formed for Taiwanese live-action show based on manga

The Star magazine and the China Daily newspaper reported that the publisher Shueisha has asked the popular male idol band F4 to rename itself. The band's name "F4" was inspired by a fictional elitist high school clique in the Boys Over Flowers (Hana Yori Dango) manga. The artists formerly known as F4 initially came together to play the fictional F4 in the cast of Meteor GARDEN, the 2001 Taiwanese live-action television adaptation of Yoko Kamio's manga.

At first, Shueisha allowed the use of the name as part of the Taiwanese drama series. However, the issue of confusion arose as the idol group's popularity grew across Asia and two native Japanese live-action television adaptations of the manga, Hana Yori Dango and Hana Yori Dango 2 [Returns], began airing in 2005 and 2007, respectively. Angie Chai, the Taiwanese drama's producer, chose the new name JVKV last month after the first initials of the quartet—Jerry Yan, Vic Zhou, Ken Chu and Vanness Wu—in order of descending age.

The first round winners will be chosen by SJ, and then the final winner will be voted by all SJ members.

Ever since FAHRENHEIT made their first debut in Taiwan, popularity has followed them wherever they went. Big companies like Coca-Cola and Pepsi are also interested in working with them. According to a recent report, Fahrenheit is already prepared to sign a contract with Pepsi, and afterwards, the four boys will officially be part of the Pepsi family. This year, the Pepsi family has made some large changes. Besides CAI YI LIN (Jolin Tsai), KOO TIN LOK (Louis Koo), and YAN CHENG XU (Jerry Yan) being part of the family, "Zai Zai" ZHOU YU MIN (Vic Zhou) also renewed his contract. Fahrenheit, who are always being compared with F4, can finally get a chance to work with half of F4. The rest of F4, WU JIAN HAO (Vanness Wu) and ZHU XIAO TIAN (Ken Chu), will leave Pepsi. In fact, someone has reported that Vanness Wu has a large chance to join Coca-Cola instead.

Jerry's "You Are My Only Persistance" (single) is #15 this week on the G-music chart, given that it is a single and the price is not cheap (NT$2xx when most albums are NT$3xx), and it has no promotion at all by SonyBMG, not even ads on newspapers/magazines like what SongBMG did to that F4 five-year collection.
